Joyce Beck, Director

     Joyce Beck, the Director of Dancescape by Joyce, is a certified member of Dance Masters of America and The South Texas Association of Dance Teachers Inc.  She has trained locally with Suzanne Banbury and the The Houston Ballet Academy.  She also trained in New York City and continues to return semi-annually to continue her dance education.  Ms  Joyce has been directing and operating the Dancescape by Joyce Studio at 2014 East Broadway in Pearland for the past 14 years and previously had a school in Friendswood for 10 years.

    Keith Cross

   Keith Cross, nationally acclaimed teacher & choreographer, will again be teaching his inspiring style of jazz at Dancescape.  He believes great dancing is a blur of good training in all the elements of dance.  Together Ballet, Modern, and Jazz dance training has helped him to create a new and fresh way of utilizing choreography. By using theseee art forms, it has given him the understanding of the versatility a dancer can have.

Keith is the Founder of Teundu Inc., Artistic director of Texas Dance Theare, and Master teacher for Cross Jazz Tours. His television credits include: Houston Grand Opera's "Temonisa" and NBC Chicago Emmies.  He has worked with such talents as Debbie Allen, Maurice Hines, James Brown, and Gus Giordano.                        

      Erica Blumenthal    

     Erica Blumenthal returned to Houston in August of 2008 and has rejoined Dancescape by Joyce for her tenth year of teaching at our studio.  Erica is currently performing with the Sandra Organ Dance Company, teaching Modern, Jazz and Ballet/Pointe at Dancescape by Joyce and enjoying her three year old son.

     While living in the Dallas Metroplex she taught for the Southlake Dance Academy and performed with Contemporary Ballet Dallas.  Erica has over ten years of experience teaching Ballet, Pointe, jazz, lyrical and modern dance throughout Houston and Dallas.

Erica has also danced professionally with the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, The Michele Brangwen Dance Ensemble, Joan Karff’s New Dance Group, Psophonia Dance Company and the Houston Grand Opera. She has performed in venues throughout Houston, including the Metropolitan Opera House, Miller Outdoor Theatre, The Wortham Theatre Center, The Hobby Center for Performing Arts, Barnevelder Movement Arts Complex and Diverse Works Artspace.

Erica began her studies at the Houston Ballet Academy under the direction of artistic director Ben Stevenson and academy principal Clara Cravey and was chosen to dance in the Houston Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker and Swan Lake.                                  

        Renee Taylor                  Renee teaches 3-4-year-old combo classes and 5-7-year-old combo classes  and is looking forward to another exciting year with these young dancers.

    Ashley Cristiano has been teaching at Dancescape for 2 years. Ashley is the Drum Major for Pearland High School band and a senior dancers at Dancescape by Joyce. Ashley was the Wicked Step Mother in our performance of Cinderella last year and has been a successful competition dancer.

Shannette Thorpe  is beginning her second year teaching at Dancescape. Shannette has a dance degree from Sam Houston University. She teaches Tap, Jazz and Drill Team Prep classes.

Leslie Finley is beginning her first year of teaching at Dancescape. Ms. Leslie has a degree in dance from the University of Texas. Ms. Leslie teaches Jazz and Ballet for us and is currently working on her chiropractic degree.

Elizabeth Collier is a senior dancer at Dancescape by Joyce. She has been teaching 3-4yr and 5-7yr combo classes for two years. Elizabeth has had several leading roles in our annual dance performances and is a successful competition dancer.
